About the Craftsman

Keith Burtis

I began woodworking at the age of 10 years old in my fathers basement workshop. It became a hobby and lifetime love to see things that Dad and I made by hand get passed on to others. Chairs for cousins, dollhouses for my sister and skateboard ramps for my brother. The funny thing is… we rarely made anything for ourselves.

After having a family of my own and letting the tools collect dust in the garage next to bikes, scooters and sports equipment I dropped the craft all-together for nearly 5 years. However, recently my father Hugh Burtis, passed away and I’ve rediscovered the passion for woodworking once again. I use the craft to continue the traditions learned from my father that were passed down from his father as a way to stay connected to those memories. My goal is to ultimately retire into this craft to continue creating and teaching to others. I hope you enjoy and cherish this small piece of my family as we pass this piece on to you.
